Debian GeoTükör

A Debian GeoTükör lényege, hogy mindig a hozzánk legközelebbi Debian tükörszerverről tölthetjük le a telepíteni kívánt csomagjainkat. Ez különösen előnyös, ha több országban is használjuk ugyanazt a számítógépet.

Ehhez nem kell mást tennünk, mint az /etc/apt/sources.list-ben következetesen a cdn.debian.net-et használni.
Egy példa:

deb http://cdn.debian.net/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free
deb-src http://cdn.debian.net/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free

A rendszer kapcsolódáskor az IP-címünk alapján ellenőrzi, hogy melyik Debian tükörszerverhez érdemes kapcsolódnunk, melyik van hozzánk legközelebb. Ezt követően ellenőrzi, hogy az adott tükörszerver valóban teljes-e ill. friss-e, majd ha minden rendben volt, már tölthetjük is a szükséges csomagokat.
A dolog teljesen transzparens, csomagok telepítéséhez használhatjuk továbbra is a megszokott programjainkat.
